Alexander Rose first started producing rattan garden furniture in 2006, having recognised the modern consumer demand for low maintenance, high quality outdoor products. It was immediately evident from customer response that we had much to offer the market with the combination of our own unique designs and access to high quality weaving.

In fact our initial collections were so successful that in 2007 we invested in our own purpose built factory on the island of Cebu in the Philippines, in order to directly manage quality, production and delivery. Since that time the demand for our luxury garden furniture has increased so much that we have been forced to move to a larger factory to accommodate production needs.

Now several years on from our initial foray into outdoor weave furniture, we have three impressive ranges of traditional and modern garden furniture that cater for all styles, environments and weather conditions. We are also looking forward to a major new launch in 2017, with a completely new range being debuted in two exciting new colours.

At our factory in the Philippines, our in-house aluminium framing department skilfully fabricate and weld the intricate carcasses before powder coating in colours to match the Rose Fibre ahead of weaving commencing. It can take even an experienced weaver two full days to weave an Alexander Rose chair, such are our high standards and our requirements for attention to detail.

Naturally, as with all our manufacturing processes we implement best practice environmental policies. The synthetic rattan and aluminium raw materials used are 100% recyclable, and all wastage is reused to make small components on many of our products. We look after our workers well too, offering excellent rates of pay along with providing hot meals and transport to and from their homes.

Our factory offers financial support to workers with children who wish to attend schools in Cebu, and we have also recently introduced an apprenticeship scheme to offer local unskilled workers the opportunity to learn the many trades used to produce woven furniture. This is our way of recognising and valuing the contribution of the community in producing what we believe to be the most beautiful and hardwearing rattan furniture in the world today.
